Mission

Girls develop courage, confidence and character while building their self-esteem, leadership, and citizenship skills in a safe, nurturing environment. Our program is based on extensive research from our national organization and our program department. It is age-appropriate, girl-led, and girl-driven. Our programs reflect the interests and needs of today's girls. The Girl Scouts of Connecticut is the largest all-girl organization in the state working with girls of all racial, ethnic, religious, economic and social backgrounds.

Program accomplishments

  • Membership & Program Service: The Girl Scouts of Connecticut is dedicated to providing girls ages 5-17 years old with opportunities to build skills and to grow to become competent, confident and resourceful women. In partnership with an adult advisor, girls travel on their own journey to become leaders who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts are encouraged to plan projects that benefit their communities and are rewarded for their leadership efforts through our bronze, silver and gold awards, the highest achievements in Girl Scouting. STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics), Healthy Living, Go Green and Diversity continues to be the focus of all Girl Scouts programs. It helps the girls develop values, open new horizons and empower them to make decisions about life.
