The emailed confirmation code

Reviewed

The first time you sign or pay, 990.tax asks you to confirm your email: “Before you sign and pay, please confirm that your email address is yours. We ask only once.”

  1. We email a 6-digit code with the subject “Your 990.tax confirmation code”.
  2. Type it into the box and choose Confirm.
  3. Signing or payment continues.

Starting and filling in a return needs no code.

Limits

  • A code is valid for 10 minutes. After that: “This code has expired. Send a new one.”
  • 5 wrong tries use up a code: “Too many wrong codes. Send a new one.”
  • Send a new code works once a minute, up to 10 codes a day.

Not in your inbox? Check spam or junk. The code goes to your account’s email address; if that address is wrong, email [email protected].
