Program accomplishments

  • Sticky Culture served as Experience Design and Integration Partner for the PRAx Gallery, a component of the Climate of Change exhibition at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), commissioned by Oregon State University's Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx). The PRAx Gallery is designed to immerse visitors in environments that demonstrate how artistic imagination, empathy, and experimentation contribute to understanding and responding to the climate crisis. The gallery comprises five interconnected zones - Visual Art, Sound, Performance, Literature, and Meet the Artist - each presenting curated works within a unified spatial and sensory framework. In 2025, Sticky Culture completed Phase 1 of the project: initiating the engagement, conducting joint planning workshops with PRAx and OMSI, and developing the conceptual and environmental design framework for the full gallery. Fabrication and installation are scheduled for completion in 2026. The PRAx Gallery will serve the hundreds of thousands of visitors who visit OMSI annually.
    Expenses $54,680
  • Sticky Culture provided exhibition design services to the Oregon Historical Society (OHS) for two temporary gallery exhibitions: The Changing Skyline, exploring Oregon's historic Skyline/Pacific Crest Trail through archival and contemporary photography, tactile maps, and accessible interactive elements; and the June Drake exhibit. Services encompassed concept and design development, spatial planning, art direction, graphics production, AV media design and production, and project management. Work began in late 2024 and continued through 2025, culminating in graphic installation in September 2025 and the exhibit opening in October 2025. These exhibits served an estimated 100,000 annual visitors to OHS's Portland museum, with particular attention to accessible and inclusive design.
    Expenses $17,497
  • Sticky Culture produced two multimedia videos for the Wonder exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society, focused on the history of aviation in Oregon. The videos integrate digitized silent film footage from the 1930s with oral history audio recordings from the Oregon Aviation Historical Society and Museum, creating an educational experience connecting archival material to contemporary visitors. Deliverables included script development, audio editing, video production, synchronization, and closed captioning burned directly into the final footage. The completed videos - Women Pilots (5:27) and Airshows and Homebuilt Flying (6:27) - were delivered and installed in February 2025 for the Wonder temporary exhibition at OHS, serving an estimated 100,000 annual visitors.
    Expenses $3,244
