Mission
THE HEADFIRST MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE (HMHI) WAS ESTABLISHED TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE CURRENT MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS IN THE DALLAS AND SURROUNDING AREAS AND PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION AND SERVICES TO THOSE MOST IN NEED.
Program accomplishments
- As part of our purpose to provide treatment to those most affected by the current mental health crisis, the HMHI will provide free, evidenced-based clinical mental health services to children, adolescents, teens, parents, and families within the HeadFirst Counseling therapy practice and our network of providers at various locations. Through providing personalized and quality mental health treatment at no cost to those most affected by the mental health crisis of our time, we aim to break down barriers to treatment and target the most vulnerable populations who have typically been denied access to services due to inability to pay.Expenses $93,827
- Other areas of service accomplishments include expansion of our community presence, offering groups on-site at the Wesley Rankin Community Center and forging new partnerships with SMU and the Ken Polk Community Center. We also collaborated with the Grace Loncar Foundation to provide free community support groups for caregivers of children with mental health issues.
