Mission
Embrace Sportz is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to youth sports in underprivileged communities by promoting equity, participation, and development through athletic programs, mentoring, and education.
Program accomplishments
- Embrace Sportz launched a new Cross Country camp to expose Detroit youth in grades 612 to the sport and revive participation within the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD). The week-long camp, held at Cass Benton Park in Northville, simulated regular cross country training and provided comprehensive coaching, education on nutrition and proper footwear, and a supportive environment for all experience levels. The program was offered free of charge and included daily bus transportation, lunch, and snacks to ensure accessibility for all participants. The initiative aims to promote healthy lifestyles, build resilience and discipline, and open pathways to collegiate scholarship opportunities that have historically gone unclaimed among Detroits Black and Brown students.Expenses $689,338 · grants $243,914 · revenue $859,525
