990-EZ for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • PROGRAMMING FOR WOMEN AND TRANSGENDER INDIVIDUALS DURING INCARCERATION AND RE-ENTRY, IS CRUCIAL TO AN INCARCERATED PERSON'S SUCCESSFUL RE-ENTRY. TRUE TO OUR MISSION TO UNITE DIVERSE PEOPLE FOR SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE, PROGRAMMING IS CONDUCTED BY VOLUNTEERS: PROFESSIONAL MEN AND WOMEN WITH BACKGROUNDS IN SOUL CARE, CHAPLAINCY, SOCIAL WORK, COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY, OR THERAPY, ARE RECRUITED AND TRAINED AS MENTORS PROVIDING INDIVIDUAL SOUL CARE IN PRISON AND DURING RE-ENTRY. SOUL CARE MENTORS MEET TWICE A MONTH WITH MENTEES AND PROVIDE INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS WITH SUPPORT AND TOOLS FOR DEALING WITH PAST TRAUMA, FORGIVENESS, DECISION-MAKING, RELATIONSHIP SKILLS, AND PERSONAL LIFE MEANING. WE WORK WITH INDIVIDUALS OF ALL FAITH TRADITIONS AS WELL AS THOSE NON-FAITH AFFILIATED. THE VOLUNTEER MENTORS RECEIVE MONTHLY SUPERVISION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE MENTEES, BOTH INSIDE AND AFTER INCARCERATION, TO SHARE THEIR GIFTS WITH OTHERS AND TO BE OF SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, PRAYER SUPPORT, AND PREPARATION OF BACKPACK MATERIALS AND TOILETRIES FOR THE INDIGENT. THE PROGRAM ALSO BRINGS TOGETHER COLORADO COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH THOSE WHO ARE INCARCERATED, FOUR TIMES A YEAR, IN A GROUP SETTING FOR HEALING CIRCLES WITH DRUMMING AND SHARED REFLECTION. RE-ENTRY MENTORING PROVIDES MATERIAL, PRACTICAL, NETWORKING, AND SOUL CARE SUPPORT. THE SPEAKERS BUREAU INVOLVES COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS ON RESTORATIVE JUSTICE, INCARCERATION, AND RE-ENTRY. INDIVIDUALS IN RE-ENTRY PARTICIPATE IN THE SPEAKERS BUREAU. FINALLY, SURVIVAL BACKPACKS ARE PROVIDED TO INDIVIDUALS UPON RE-ENTRY, WHETHER IN COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS OR RELEASED TO A SHELTER. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE (139) PEOPLE WERE SERVED DURING THE YEAR, AND VOLUNTEERS DONATED 2,080 HOURS.
