Mission

EXODUS LENDING WORKS WITH FINANCIALLY EXCLUDED MINNESOTANS TO ADVANCE ECONOMIC JUSTICE THROUGH CONSUMER LENDING, COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, AND ADVOCACY.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • OUR REFINANCING LOAN PROGRAM HAS BEEN PAYING OFF HIGH-COST DEBT FOR MINNESOTANS SINCE 2015. IN 2025, WE PAID OFF 138 LOANS WITH AN AVERAGE APR OF 260% FOR 98 MINNESOTANS! OUR REPAYMENT PLANS ARE ALWAYS INTEREST-FREE, AND, BY OUR ESTIMATES, WE HAVE SAVED MORE THAN $500K FOR MINNESOTAN COMMUNITIES THIS YEAR ALONE. ALONGSIDE OUR FLAGSHIP PREDATORY DEBT REFINANCING PROGRAM, EXODUS LENDING COLLABORATES WITH NON-PROFITS THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA TO PROVIDE 0% INTEREST PERSONAL LOANS OF UP TO $1,200 TO QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS ENGAGED IN THESE PARTNERING ORGANIZATIONS' EXISTING PROGRAMMING. WE CALL THESE OUR RESILIENCY LOANS BECAUSE THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUALS MEANINGFUL ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE CREDIT - AND ULTIMATELY STOP PEOPLE FROM TURNING TO HIGH-COST LOANS IN THE FIRST PLACE. IN 2025, WE MADE 119 RESILIENCY LOANS, DISTRIBUTING OVER $143,000 IN INTEREST-FREE LOANS TO MINNESOTANS. BY OFFERING LOANS EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH TRUSTED PARTNERS, WE DEEPEN OUR COLLECTIVE IMPACT BY CREATING A COLLABORATIVE MODEL OF CONSUMER LENDING THAT MEETS PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE AND SUPPORTS THEM EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.ONE OF OUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR WAS TO HAVE MORE FREQUENT, BUT SMALLER EVENTS TO BUILD COMMUNITY AND SOLICIT MORE INPUT FROM MINNESOTA CONSUMERS AROUND OUR ADVOCACY AND SYSTEMS CHANGE WORK. IN 2025, WE HOSTED FOUR IN-PERSON LISTENING SESSIONS ACROSS THE STATE WITH VARIOUS PARTNERS TO BRING CONSUMERS TOGETHER TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES WITH PAYDAY LOAN APPS OR EARNED WAGE ACCESS (EWA) APPS TO INFORM OUR ADVOCACY AGENDA FOR 2026.
