Mission

TO IMPROVE ACCESS, QUALITY AND RELEVANCE OF EDUCATION FOR YOUTH IN RURAL CENTRAL AMERICA.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • GUATEMALA:1.We trained, mentored, and supported 69 (17 new and 52 existing) community-identified education leaders in rural Guatemala.2.More than 4,200 rural students from 17 schools serving 123 communities benefited from computer labs, classrooms equipped with audiovisual resources, access to open educational resources, resource centers for students with disabilities, technology skills training for both teachers and students, safe after-school learning spaces, and additional resources.3.We identified and selected 17 new Fellows for the 2026 cohort.4.We refined our Mission, Vision, and Theory of Change to emphasize local educators as drivers of real system change; a shift grounded in lived experience and proven impact. Our Fellows demonstrated this ownership by mobilizing 70% of project costs from their communities, reflecting a genuine belief and engagement. They raised more than $118,614 in local in-kind contributions (not including services, food, transportation, labor, and volunteer time) from their communities to support their educational projects.5.A major milestone was the consolidation of the Women's Leadership Council, composed of five Indigenous Fellow educators. The Council co-designed and began implementing a gender equity curriculum now integrated across the Fellows program, reinforcing more inclusive and supportive learning environments.6.With the support of our Board, the staff and trusted partners, ConnectED Fellows completed a deep organizational reflection process and developed its Strategic Plan 20262028. This milestone reflects growing institutional strength, clarity, and long-term direction.7.ConnectED forged new partnerships with World Connect/Guate Conecta, Nuya/MilMilagros, San Andrs Semetabaj and Mataquescuintla Municipalities and the Ministry of Educations district representatives, Tierra Nueva.6.We continued to grow our Board of Directors in the USA, our ConnectED team in Guatemala, and legally registered ConnectED as a nonprofit in Guatemala (Asociacin ConnectED Guatemala).
    Expenses $330,892
