Mission

To drive rural workforce development and economic opportunity in Southern Colorado by cultivating a collaborative ecosystem where entrepreneurs, students, and businesses connect, grow, and lead.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • During the final four months of 2025 (short year tax period), Emergent Campus formally launched operations as a Colorado nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening rural communities through workforce development, education, entrepreneurship, technology, and economic opportunity. Workforce Development and Career Pathways: In alignment with its charitable mission, Emergent Campus expanded programs that connect individuals, employers, educational institutions, and community partners while increasing access to career pathways, innovation resources, and professional development throughout Southern Colorado. A primary focus during this period was workforce and career development. Emergent Campus provided career coaching, employer engagement, job matching, workforce navigation, and internship support to help students, job seekers, and career changers access quality employment opportunities. The organization continued building relationships with regional employers to better understand workforce needs while connecting employers with qualified talent. Workforce programming emphasized both immediate employment opportunities and long-term career advancement through upskilling, professional development, and industry engagement. During this time period we supported approximately 36 participants and 9 job placements. Entrepreneurship and Business Support: Emergent Campus also continued expanding entrepreneurship and small business support through startup incubation, mentorship, educational workshops, networking events, and business resource navigation. Entrepreneurs and small business owners were provided opportunities to develop business concepts, connect with mentors, access educational programming, and build relationships with peers and regional partners. These activities helped foster innovation while supporting local business creation and economic resilience across rural Colorado. During the last 4 months of 2025 we supported over 20 businesses and an additional 8 in our incubation program. Education and technology programming remained a core area of impact. We also continued to grow our coworking memberships and business tenant base, ending the year with approximately 25 business office memberships and 25 coworking memberships. Community Education, STEM, and Regional Partnerships: Emergent Campus hosted educational workshops, technology-focused events, robotics and STEM programming, and community learning opportunities designed to increase awareness of technology careers and strengthen workforce readiness. Programming served youth, college students, working professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members seeking to develop new skills in technology, innovation, and emerging industries. The organization strengthened partnerships with K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, workforce organizations, economic development partners, employers, nonprofit organizations, and local governments to coordinate programming and expand regional impact. These collaborations increased access to educational resources, workforce services, and entrepreneurial support while reducing duplication of services and improving regional coordination. During this period, Emergent Campus also continued developing its innovation hub and coworking facilities within the rehabilitated historic Florence High School campus. The facility served as a community gathering place offering shared workspace, meeting space, educational programming, business support services, and networking opportunities that encouraged collaboration among entrepreneurs, remote workers, nonprofit organizations, students, and community members. As a newly established nonprofit, Emergent Campus focused on building organizational capacity by establishing governance, forming its Board of Directors, strengthening financial and administrative systems, pursuing charitable funding opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships necessary to sustain and expand programming. These foundational efforts positioned the organization for long-term growth and increased community impact. Collectively, these activities advanced Emergent Campus' charitable purpose of expanding workforce education, supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, increasing access to technology and lifelong learning, strengthening rural economies, fostering cross-sector partnerships, and creating greater economic opportunity for residents throughout Southern Colorado, consistent with the organization's Articles of Incorporation.
