Program accomplishments
- Public Services and Care: In 2025, the public services program advanced advocacy for the rights to education and health by generating evidence on the impacts of austerity, privatisation, and fiscal constraints on access to essential services. The program produced legal and policy analysis on states obligations to finance public services and developed country-level studies in Kenya and Ghana examining the effects of austerity on education and health systems. It also engaged in regional education initiatives and international policy discussions to promote inclusive and equitable education systems, while supporting global advocacy efforts calling for stronger regulation of private actors in healthcare and education. These activities strengthened collaboration with civil society coalitions and contributed to policy debates on the sustainable financing of rights-based public services.Expenses $261,396 · grants $1,503
- Economic Justice: In 2025, the economic and fiscal justice program strengthened its leadership in advancing human rights-based approaches to taxation, debt, and global financial governance. The program actively engaged in international policy processes including the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation negotiations and the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), convening strategic briefings and contributing expert analysis to support Global South perspectives. At the regional and national levels, the program supported initiatives on tax justice and illicit financial flows in Africa and Latin America, facilitated dialogue among governments and civil society, and produced research highlighting the links between fiscal policy, public services, and human rights. Through these activities, the program promoted progressive taxation, debt justice, and equitable financing for sustainable development.Expenses $184,772 · grants $1,202
- Climate and Environmental Justice: In 2025, the environmental justice program advanced efforts toward a gender-just and rights-based energy transition by amplifying community voices and influencing international climate governance processes. The program published and launched research documenting the gendered impacts of transition-mineral extraction in Zimbabwe and contributed to UN processes on climate change, energy access, and the water-energy nexus. It also engaged in UNFCCC negotiations and global policy discussions shaping the pathway toward COP30, advocating for the integration of human rights and gender justice in climate action and just transition policies. Through strategic partnerships and participation in international forums, the program strengthened civil society coordination and elevated Global South perspectives in debates on the energy transition and climate governance.Expenses $141,248 · grants $301 · revenue $329,030
