  • THE KENNEBEC RIVER RAIL TRAIL IS A 6.5 MILE TRAIL THAT RUNS ALONG HE WEST SIDE OF THE KENNEBEC RIVER FROM AUGUSTA TO GARDINER. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE FRIENDS IS TO RAISE FUNDS AND RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS FOR TRAIL CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLING AMENITIES AND MAINTENANCE OF THE TRAIL.
  • FRIENDS OF THE KENNEBEC RIVER RAIL TRAIL PUBLISH AND UPDATE A BROCHURE AND MEMBER- SHIP APPLICATION. SUCCESS IS MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF MILES CONSTRUCTED, AND THE NUMBER OF COMMUTERS THAT USE THE TRAIL IN LIEU OF MOTORIZED VEHICLES THAT ADD TO THE AIR POLLUTION AND CONGESTION ALONG ROUTE 201.
