Mission
We are exempt because of our mission and non-profit status. This organization's mission is to educate on computer science and technology related fields and support community growth and development. We do this through our most significant activities: monthly workshops on various topics. We are also a non-profit organization; all grants awarded to us go towards funding activities to help support our organization's mission. We started this organization as a University of Minnesota student organization due to the lack of clubs supporting female identifying students in the computer sciences. As a result, we started this organization to provide a place for all students to come together, learn, and support each other through college. This organization benefits the public directly by providing education and community support as well as indirectly through creating a more tight knit community at the University of Minnesota.
Program accomplishments
- We had a total of 19 events this year. These included crafting events, bowling, Trivia, hackathons, company visits, seminars, study nights, and informational sessions on coding, resume writing, and internship applications. This event mainly served University of Minnesota students. Students were able to form a community at these events and make friends with each other while being educated in coding related topics. Students walked away with a better sense of community and more knowledge that they don't typically learn in their classes. A total of 432 people attended these events. Grants awarded were used for purchasing food, drinks, and supplies for the scheduled event.Expenses $5,819 · grants $6,194
