Program accomplishments
- During 2024, the Caldwell Institute for Public Safety completed its organizational formation and began establishing its administrative and governance structures. Efforts included incorporation, development of bylaws, formation of the board of directors, and establishment of compliance and recordkeeping systems. The Institute also defined its mission, operational priorities, and long-term strategic goals to guide future programming. These foundational steps provided the framework necessary for sustainable growth and effective pursuit of the Institutes public safety missionExpenses $82,008 · revenue $223,881
- Community Outreach and Mission Awareness The Institute conducted introductory outreach throughout the country to share its mission of promoting public safety and fairness in the justice system. Leadership met with community members, civic organizations, and safety advocates to communicate the Institutes objectives and invite collaboration. Public materials and communications were developed to inform stakeholders about the organizations goals and encourage participation in future initiatives. These outreach efforts helped establish initial recognition of the Caldwell Institutes commitment to building safer and more just communities.
- Policy and Leadership Engagement In its first year, the Caldwell Institute initiated policy engagement efforts to support a justice system that prioritizes citizen safety. Representatives met with local and regional policy leaders, including officials in Los Angeles, to discuss strategies for improving law enforcement support and community protection. The Institute participated in early policy discussions and expressed support for leadership committed to effective, fair, and accountable public safety systems. These activities laid the groundwork for the Institutes future policy research and advocacy initiatives.
