Mission

Dandelion Kitchen prepares meals for food insecure community members using primarily recovered ingredients.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Dandelion Kitchen reduces food waste and increases access to nutritious prepared food by recovering high-quality surplus ingredients from local food businesses and farms and transforming them into nourishing meals for community members experiencing food insecurity. In 2025 Dandelion Kitchen recovered more than 6 tons of ingredients and prepared approximately 27,000 servings of food. Meals were distributed through a network of community partners serving people experiencing homelessness and housing instability, low-income families and students, people undergoing cancer treatment, and other community members facing barriers to obtaining nutritious food. Through this work, Dandelion Kitchen simultaneously addresses food insecurity and food waste while strengthening a community-based network of food donors, volunteers, and nonprofit partners.
