The Organization has entered into a Model C Fiscal Sponsorship agreement with a Colorado LLC that is producing the Little Salt documentary. Through the fiscal sponsorship of Little Salt, the Organization is helping to bring the story of the Colorado River Basin to life. The film will explore the challenges and connections that unite farmers, ranchers, tribal communities, recreationists, conservationists and growing cities, all of whom depend on this remarkable river system. The Organization will act as Grantor for the purpose of providing financial support for the program by soliciting donations and regranting them when expenditures for the program have been incurred and recorded.

  • Healthy Rivers, Vibrant Lives Program: Healthy rivers support thriving communities. Through education, outreach and community partnerships, the program connects people with the knowledge and resources needed to support local conservation efforts. The program is building awareness, strengthening connections and inspiring stewardship to protect rivers for generations to come. Grantmaking through this program focuses on community-inspired projects. All projects must demonstrate inclusion in project planning and execution by actively seeking and valuing a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and experiences from the communities the project will serve.

  • Resilient Colorado River Program: Healthy rivers begin upstream. This program restores the natural processes that keep rivers and streams healthy, from alpine headwaters to desert washes. By supporting nature-based restoration, improving wildlife habitat and reducing wildfire risk, the program is helping to build more resilient watersheds across the Colorado River Basin. Grantmaking through this program focuses on projects that support biodiversity, improve connectivity between streams and their floodplains, restore degraded wildlife habitat by removing invasive species or planting native species, improve breeding and nesting habitat for migratory birds, minimize fire danger and improve the resilience of watersheds, reduce streambank and soil erosion, and improve instream water quality, quantity and temperature.
