VOX FEMINA LOS ANGELES GIVES WOMEN VOICE THROUGH THE PERFORMANCE OF HIGH QUALITY CHORAL LITERATURE. VOX IS A DIVERSE CHORUS OF THE COMMUNITY COMMITTED TO COMMISSIONING NEW WORKS AND RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT ISSUES THAT AFFECT WOMEN. THROUGH THE POWER OF MUSIC, VOX SEEKS TO CREATE A WORLD THAT AFFIRMS THE WORTH AND DIGNITY OF EVERY PERSON.
Program accomplishments
- VOX'S PERFORMING SEASON CONSISTS OF THREE SUBSCRIPTION CONCERTS, THREE FREE COMMUNITY CONCERTS, A CABARET NIGHT, AND NUMEROUS GUEST APPEARANCES. SINCE THE PANDEMIC, VOX HAS CONTINUED TO LIVE STREAM ALL OF ITS SUBSCRIPTION CONCERTS, REACHING AN INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE. VOX'S CONCERTS ARE PREDOMINANTLY CENTERED ON THEMES OF SOCIAL JUSTICE. VOX SERVES OVER 1400 MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ACROSS LA COUNTY WITH A MULTI-TIERED MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM, INCLUDING THE OPEN DRESS REHEARSAL, THE YOUTH CHOIR FESTIVAL, THE CHORAL SCHOLAR PROGRAM, AND THE AFTER-SCHOOL CHOIR PROGRAM, "SING OUT!" VOX OFFERS PARTICIPATING STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES FREE TICKETS TO ALL VOX CONCERTS.VOX RECEIVED THE 2024 MARGARET HILLIS AWARD FOR ARTISTIC AND ORGANIZATIONAL EXCELLENCE FROM CHORUS AMERICA, THE ORGANIZATION'S HIGHEST HONOR. VOX WAS THRILLED TO MAKE ITS CARNEGIE HALL DEBUT ON JUNE 8, 2024, AS PART OF THE NATIONAL CONCERTS SERIES,WITH DR. LEVINE CONDUCTING A NATIONAL TREBLE CHOIR.Expenses $288,670
