Mission
THE MISSION OF BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF LONG BEACH IS TO ENABLE ALL YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO NEED US MOST, TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE, CARING, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS.
Program accomplishments
- WE PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON ACADEMIC AND LIFE SKILLS, COLLEGE PREPARATION, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE PREVENTION, ATHLETICS, AND THE PROVISION OF BASIC NEEDS, INCLUDING MEALS AND SNACKS AND ACCESS TO LAUNDRY MACHINES. OUR PROGRAMMING IS DESIGNED TO ENSURE ALL OF THE 4,673 MEMBERS WE SERVE ANNUALLY HAVE THEIR FOUNDATIONAL NEEDS MET AND THE RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES THEY NEED TO THRIVE. WE OPERATE 14 SITES IN THE CITY OF LONG BEACH (THREE CLUBHOUSES, 10 LONG BEACH UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT SITES, AND ONE SITE ON THE LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE CAMPUS), MOST OF WHICH ARE SITUATED IN NEIGHBORHOODS WITH THE MOST NEED.Expenses $5,077,020 · revenue $237,532
