Mission

The LASA Archery Booster Club is an educational organization supporting the archery program at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy, a public high school in the Austin Independent School District. The Club provides equipment, coaching support, range time, and tournament access so students of all experience levels can participate in competitive and recreational archery regardless of family resources. The Club believes that with the right tools and support, any student can become a successful archer, and that the practice of archery builds focus, discipline, mindfulness, and patience, skills that carry into academic work and life beyond school. The Club raises funds through member dues, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and community fundraising events, and uses those funds to purchase and maintain equipment, cover tournament entry and travel costs, secure practice facilities, and support coaches so students can compete at local, state, and national levels.

990-EZ for the year ended May 31, 2026

Program accomplishments

  • The Club funded travel and participation for 40 student archers who qualified for the NASP national tournaments in target and 3D archery. The Club paid national registration fees, airfare, checked baggage for archers and equipment, lodging, ground transportation, and meals, substantially reducing the out-of-pocket cost to families so that qualification, rather than ability to pay, determined which archers competed. 40 archers competed in the target discipline and 20 in 3D. Travel and lodging were also provided for 5 chaperones and coaches accompanying the team.
    Expenses $46,212
  • The Club funded participation in the NASP state qualifier, the Texas state tournaments in target and 3D archery, the Centershot tournament, and additional out-of-town regular-season competitions, benefiting 48 student archers. The Club paid all tournament entry fees and provided chartered bus and other group transportation, lodging, and meals for participating archers. Two teams of 24 archers qualified to go to the state competition and qualified both teams to go to the Nationals competition.
    Expenses $6,200
  • The Club supported year-round practice and instruction for the LASA archery team, which grew from 32 archers in the 2024-2025 season to 74 archers in 2025-2026, including 22 archers new to the sport. The Club purchased and maintained shared range equipment, including an archery net and arrows, and supplied consumables and range materials used across 6 practice per week during the season that runs from September to April. Club-owned equipment is made available at no cost to any student who does not own their own, keeping the program open to all interested students regardless of ability to purchase gear. The Club also provided practice uniforms to all 74 archers, carried liability insurance covering practices and travel, and maintained an online registration and sign-up platform used by archers and families.
    Expenses $19,224
