NAMI (NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS) BROWARD COUNTY, INC. IS A 501 (C) 3 NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, FORMED IN 1982 AND IS AFFILIATED WITH NAMI NATIONAL AND NAMI FLORIDA, TO PROVIDE ADVOCACY, EDUCATION, SUPPORT AND PUBLIC AWARENESS SO THAT ALL INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS CAN BUILD BETTER LIVES.
Program accomplishments
- A. OVER THE PAST YEAR, NAMI BROWARD COUNTY HAS EMBRACED INNOVATION AND COLLABORATION TO MEET THE EVOLVING NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY. WE EXPANDED SUPPORT GROUPS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND OUTREACH INITIATIVES, ENSURING OUR SERVICES ARE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL WHO SEEK ASSISTANCE. OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF HAVE WORKED TIRELESSLY TO PROVIDE EMPATHY, UNDERSTANDING, AND PRACTICAL RESOURCES, EMBODYING NAMI'S MISSION AT EVERY TURN. I.2024 HIGHLIGHTS: 1.COMMUNITY IMPACT: REACHED 9,200 INDIVIDUALS, A 44% INCREASE FROM 2023, DEMONSTRATING OUR GROWING INFLUENCE IN THE COMMUNITY. 2.SIGNATURE PROGRAMS: DELIVERED 1,850 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING, POSITIVELY IMPACTING 128 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR PEER-TO-PEER AND MENTOR-TO-MENTEE PROGRAMS. 3.SUPPORT GROUPS: CONDUCTED 552 SESSIONS, REACHING 5,520 PARTICIPANTS, OFFERING SAFE SPACES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO SHARE EXPERIENCES AND GAIN SUPPORT. 4.WARM LINE SUPPORT: EXPERIENCED A 123% INCREASE IN CALLS, ENSURING MORE INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED GUIDANCE AND ASSISTANCE WHEN NEEDED.
