Mission
GLAD Academy made charitable contributions to support humanitarian, educational, and civil rights initiatives in alignment with its mission. It donated $15,050 to international organizations, including UNICEF, supporting programs that provide children in underserved regions with access to healthcare, education, and emergency assistance, benefiting thousands indirectly. It also contributed $3,000 to local schools, including Kennedy Junior High, Meadow Glens Elementary School, and Madison Junior High School, to enhance educational resources, student enrichment, and community-based learning, benefiting students and school communities. We donated $2,000 to nonprofit organizations such as the National Black Justice Coalition, Girls Forward, Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network, and the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, supporting efforts in cultural equity, disability inclusion, gender equity, and civil rights through advocacy, legal services, and inclusive education initiatives.
Program accomplishments
- In 2023, our organization did not receive any revenue, so our reported revenue will be zero. Our core mission is to facilitate peer-to-peer education for children around the world. Our first program focuses on peer-to-peer language learning. We operated for four months, from July to September, primarily building the infrastructure for full operation in 2024. We refined our values, mission, and goals to guide us in our operations. We also developed our website, which is now live at gladacademy.org. We recruited our first group of volunteers and provided training for the young teachers. We ran some test classes and ensured that class procedures are in place. We developed our community guidelines and tested our IT environment, which worked well for different class sizes. We also created some standard course materials. We have full confidence that we will successfully run a non-profit program that will benefit hundreds of students and young tutors around the world. For more information about our program, please visit our website at gladacademy.org.grants $27,029
