Program accomplishments

  • Camp Encourage - Cathis Table is working with Camp Encourage to bring specialized music experiences to their campers. Music making and music engagement benefits children with autism, enhancing social interaction, communication, and emotional expression in ways that traditional methods often cannot. Research highlights that music therapy can improve speech, sensory processing, and engagement while reducing anxiety and repetitive behaviors. As camp is a place of magical experiences, we will provide a unique music program to the campers with Drum Safari to facilitate a session at overnight camps. We will also be adding a music therapist or educator to lead camp fire songs.
    Expenses $1,750

This shift has created a substantial funding gap, particularly for the 14 clients on Medicaid waivers who now face reduced access to our critical services. This grant was made in honor of Laura Jones.
    Expenses $5,000
