Mission

THE WASHINGTON STATE DISTRICT AND MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES' ASSOCIATION SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE FUNCTION OF THE COURT SYSTEM AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE. THEY CONDUCT CONFERENCES, MEETINGS, AND SEMINARS RELATING TO HOW THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE IN OUR COURTS MAY BE IMPROVED. ALSO, DEVELOP RULES TO BE SUGGESTED TO THE WASHINGTON STATE SUPREME COURT TO BETTER THE COURTS' FUNCTION.

Program accomplishments

  • THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUOUSLY SURVEYS AND STUDIES THE OPERATION OF THE COURT SYSTEM, MONITORING ITS VOLUME, ITS WORKING CONDITIONS, AND COMMUNICATING PERFORMANCE. THE ASSOCIATION ASSISTS IN PROMULGATING RULES, AS WELL AS REPORTING ANNUALLY TO THE SUPREME COURT, GOVERNOR AND STATE LEGISLATURE. THE ASSOCIATION HOLDS CONFERENCES FOR THE EDUCATION OF ITS MEMBERS ABOUT JUDICIAL PROCEDURE, ETHICS, DIVERSITY, AND VARIOUS OTHER OUTREACH ACTIVITIES.
