Program accomplishments
- Program 1: EYAME (Empower Youth through Awareness, Mentorship and Education): In 2025, MyNKA launched the EYAME program, a yearlong youth empowerment and prevention initiative focused on leadership development, healthy living, mental health awareness, and substance misuse prevention. Through workshops, educational excursions, health awareness fairs, and community engagement activities, the program equipped youth with tools for personal growth, discipline, and positive decision-making. Program activities included suicide prevention awareness events, bullying prevention workshops, alcohol prevention education, problem gambling awareness events, mentorship activities, and a summer youth camp experience. EYAME also hosted empowerment-focused gatherings that encouraged youth leadership, confidence building, and healthy digital habits. The program directly benefited approximately 179 youth and participants through five major events and activities, including more than 60 youth engaged in the Summer Camp program and more than 40 women who participated in the "Gathering of the Queens" empowerment event focused on supporting teenagers through faith and action. Additional measurable outcomes included: 30+ youth sign-ups for ongoing empowerment programming; 50+ youth participants pledging healthier screen-time habits; 20+ interactive participant responses collected through engagement tools during workshops and outreach events; A 4.7 out of 5 participant satisfaction rating for the EYAME BBQ engagement event; and 15+ youth volunteers who assisted with mentoring, leadership, and camp activities. The EYAME initiative empowered youth with leadership skills, health awareness education, and community engagement opportunities while strengthening family and community support systems.Expenses $14,806 · grants $14,806

The organization participated in community health fairs and outreach events where overdose prevention education, fentanyl awareness materials, and pill disposal information were distributed to community members. More than 50 boxes of Narcan were distributed during outreach activities to help improve emergency overdose response readiness within the community. Educational efforts included opioid overdose awareness, fentanyl risk education, overdose response training, and safe medication disposal education. These initiatives helped increase community awareness regarding substance misuse prevention and life-saving intervention strategies. The program benefited community residents, parents, youth, and families through collaborative outreach efforts with local organizations and public health partners.Expenses $871 · grants $871
- Program 3: Parent Outreach and Community Engagement: In 2025, MyNKA organized three major community engagement and parent outreach events designed to educate, empower, and connect families and community stakeholders. These events included a Mental Health Awareness event, a Parent Outreach and Financial Literacy event, and an End-of-Year Celebration event. The outreach initiatives focused on increasing awareness surrounding mental health, youth development, financial empowerment, substance misuse prevention, and family engagement. Approximately 100 parents and community members benefited from these educational and community-building activities. MyNKA collaborated with several community and institutional partners to strengthen program impact, including the Prince George's County Executive's Office, the University of Maryland Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling, Hagar's Restoration Home Outreach, Vision and Purpose Media, Wawa, SAMHSA, parents, volunteers, and additional community stakeholders.
