OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE TRANSFORMATIVE EQUINE-ASSISTED THERAPY THAT FOSTER TRAUMA RECOVERY, SUICIDE PREVENTION, AND RESILIENCE BUILDING FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES.
Program accomplishments
- YOUTH PROGRAMS. ON MAUI, FAMILIES ARE FACING UNPRECEDENTED CHALLENGES. IN LAHAINA, MANY REMAIN DISPLACED, LIVING IN TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND UNABLE TO REGAIN A SENSE OF STABILITY. ACROSS THE ISLAND, FINANCIAL STRAIN WEIGHS HEAVILY AS BUSINESSES, HOUSEHOLDS, AND ENTIRE COMMUNITIES STRUGGLE TO RECOVER. PARENTS ARE BURDENED AND OFTEN EMOTIONALLY DISCONNECTED FROM THEIR CHILDREN. AT-RISK YOUTH, CAUGHT IN THIS INSTABILITY, FACE TRAUMA THAT FUELS SUBSTANCE USE, SELF-HARM, VIOLENCE, AND CYCLES OF GENERATIONAL PAIN. SPIRIT HORSE RANCH EXISTS TO PROVIDE A SAFE SPACE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH AGES 8 TO 18 TO INTERRUPT THIS CYCLE THROUGH HUMAN-HORSE CONNECTION - A SAFE, NON-JUDGMENTAL RELATIONSHIP THAT ALLOWS YOUTH TO FEEL SEEN, VALUED, AND ACCEPTED.Expenses $264,605

OUR TRAUMA INFORMED EQUINE ASSISTED SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES A CALM, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT WHERE VETERANS CAN STEP AWAY FROM CONFINED SPACES AND RECONNECT WITH THEMSELVES THROUGH NATURE, HORSES, AND EVIDENCE BASED NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION PRACTICES. WORKFORCE TRAINING. WE OFFER CUSTOMIZABLE HEARTMATH RESILIENCE TRAININGS AND ON-SITE GROUP SESSIONS DESIGNED TO EQUIP INDIVIDUALS AND TEAMS WITH PRACTICAL, SCIENCE-BASED TOOLS TO MANAGE STRESS, REGULATE EMOTIONS, AND BUILD RESILIENCE. TRAININGS CAN BE DELIVERED VIA ZOOM, IN-PERSON AT THE SPIRIT HORSE RANCH IN MAUI, OR AT YOUR ORGANIZATION'S LOCATION. RANCH HORSE RESCUE. IN 2025, WE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED OUR HORSE FOSTER & RESCUE PROGRAM, PROVIDING VETERINARY CARE, REHABILITATION, AND LIFELONG SANCTUARY WHEN NEEDED. SADLY, RANCH HORSES ARE OFTEN DISCARDED AFTER THEY HAVE AGED OUT. OUR MISSION HAS ALWAYS EMBRACED HEALING FOR BOTH HUMANS AND ANIMALS. ALONGSIDE OUR HERD OF 16 HORSES, WE WELCOMED TOA AND STAR, TWO RESCUED HORSES WHO FOUND SANCTUARY AND RENEWED PURPOSE WITH US. JUST AS OUR HUMAN CLIENTS ARE GIVEN TOOLS TO REBUILD TRUST AND RESILIENCE, OUR EQUINE RESCUES RECEIVE SAFETY, CARE, AND CONNECTION.
