Mission
THE DREAM CENTER SERVES AS A RESOURCE CENTER FOCUSED ON PROVIDING SUPPORT TO THOSE AFFECTED BY HOMELESSNESS, HUNGER AND LACK OF EDUCATION THROUGH RESIDENTIAL AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS.
Program accomplishments
- ENROLLMENT AND PROGRAM COMPLETION: THE CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) PROGRAM MAINTAINS STRUCTURED, HIGH-ACCOUNTABILITY ENROLLMENT TO MAXIMIZE PARTICIPANT SUCCESS, WITH COHORTS TYPICALLY ACCEPTING UP TO 14 STUDENTS. THIS FOCUSED APPROACH CONTRIBUTES TO THE OVERALL SUCCESS OF THE PATHWAYS PROGRAM, WHICH HAS SEEN 27 TO 60 MOMS ENROLLED WITH A HIGH COMPLETION RATE OF 87%. THE ORGANIZATION HAS AMBITIOUS PLANS TO SCALE THIS MODEL TO SERVE A TARGET OF 200 ELIGIBLE CLIENTS THROUGH THE PHASED PATHWAYS PROGRAM BY LAUNCHING NEW COHORTS AT LEAST EVERY FOUR MONTHS.Expenses $1,335,025 · grants $275,117 · revenue $8,000
- DIRECT ECONOMIC AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT OUTCOMES: THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE GRADUATED COHORTS IS THE MEASURABLE INCREASE IN ECONOMIC STABILITY THROUGH HIGH-WAGE EMPLOYMENT. COHORT GRADUATES ARE SECURING POSITIONS WITH EMPLOYER PARTNERS, SUCH AS A COHORT 2 PARTICIPANT WHO ACCEPTED A FULL-TIME JOB WITH MIDWEST PAIN AND SPINE AT $22.00 AN HOUR. ANOTHER COHORT 2 GRADUATE, CANDACE, RECEIVED A $15,000 ANNUAL SALARY INCREASE AND WAS PROMOTED TO COMMUNITY LIAISON, MOVING HER SALARY FROM $42,240 TO $57,240. THESE SUCCESSES CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL PROGRAM OUTCOME, WHERE PARTICIPANTS INCREASED THEIR WAGES BY AN AVERAGE OF $4.50 PER HOUR.
- HOLISTIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND COMMUNITY IMPACT: BEYOND EMPLOYMENT, THE PROGRAM'S GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT LIES IN FOSTERING HOLISTIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND STABILITY FOR THE WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES. QUALITATIVELY, GRADUATES LIKE JW HAVE EXPRESSED PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION, STATING, "THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I FINISHED AND IT CHANGED HOW I SEE MYSELF." QUANTIFIABLE SOCIAL OUTCOMES INCLUDE 10 CLIENTS SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITIONING OFF MEDICAID, WHICH GENERATED AN ESTIMATED $111,454 IN ANNUAL TAXPAYER SAVINGS. FURTHERMORE, EMPLOYER PARTNERS LIKE MIDWEST PAIN & SPINE AND AXIA WOMEN'S HEALTH HAVE HIRED MOMS FROM BOTH COHORT 1 AND COHORT 2, DEMONSTRATING THE PROGRAM'S PROVEN CAPACITY TO PREPARE WOMEN FOR MEANINGFUL, LONG-TERM CAREERS.
