Mission
We seek to empower young people orphans the disadvantaged and others in need in the spirit of Christian teachings by providing shelter sustenance education medical care and spiritual and emotional support; by reaching out to other underprivileged populations of the community; and by adhering to internationally accepted best practices in the care of children and adults. We sponsor children to go to school and we hold health fairs in a new health clinic we have established with local support.
Program accomplishments
- Improvement and furnishing of the Health Center: The Health Center we built through JOMAR Foundation Cameroon to improve the health conditions of the struggling community in Likomba was unfurnished upon completion. The conditions under which the health personnel worked were very inconvenient and as a result efficiency on the part of these personnel was low. For this reason we took a step towards flooring tiling painting air conditioning and providing furniture such as chairs tables and storage cabinets.Expenses $31,506 · grants $35,013
- Scholarships: Our motto at Joseph Mary Foundation is "teach them to fish". We believe with a good education and a sound mind a community can produce responsible law-abiding citizens who have the potential to reduce the level of poverty of that community. It is with this in mind that we provided funds for tuition fees for forty 40 underprivileged children in 2023. These children are from diverse regions of Cameroon and each has a unique story.Expenses $7,000 · grants $7,000
- Medical Supplies & Equipment: Likomba is a community in the southwest region of Cameroon with the main source of income of the population coming from small-scale farming. This farming population can barely afford medical expenses and as a result the health center cannot be self-sustainable. Because the patients cannot afford to pay their medical bills the health center faces challenges in restocking hospital inventory and repairing and maintaining medical equipment amongst many other problems. We provided a grant to this health center strictly for laboratory inventory replenishment pharmacy inventory replenishment and purchase of essential medical equipment for the doctors and nurses.Expenses $12,359 · grants $12,680
