Mission
NMNPC SEEKS TO UNITE NEW MEXICO'S NURSE PRACTITIONERS IN AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROMOTING EXCELLENCE IN PRACTICE AND OPTIMAL PATIENT CARE. WE STRIVE TO BE INFORMED AND EFFECTIVE IN OUR EFFORTS TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE NURSE PRACTITIONERS' PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS AND TO PROVIDE STRONG PATIENT ADVOCACY.
Program accomplishments
- OUR PRIMARY SERVICE IS PROVIDING ACCREDITED CONTINUING EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND ADVOCACY FOR NURSE PRACTITIONERS IN NEW MEXICO. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2026, NMNPC HOSTED A THREE-DAY SPRING CONFERENCE THAT PROVIDED UP TO 27.0 CONTACT HOURS, INCLUDING PRECONFERENCE WORKSHOPS OFFERING HANDS-ON TRAINING IN SPECIALTY PRACTICE AREAS. WE ALSO OPENED REGISTRATION FOR OUR FALL CONFERENCE, FEATURING EVIDENCE-BASED EDUCATION ON NEUROLOGY ACROSS THE LIFESPAN. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE EXPANDED OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING BY LAUNCHING OUR MONTHLY "THINK IT THROUGH THURSDAY" SERIES, AN INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES TIMELY EDUCATION ON SCOPE OF PRACTICE, REGULATORY ISSUES, CLINICAL PRACTICE, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR NURSE PRACTITIONERS. WE CONTINUED TO PROVIDE OUR ENDURING NON-CANCER PAIN MANAGEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE TO HELP NURSE PRACTITIONERS MEET NEW MEXICO LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS. IN ADDITION, WE PUBLISHED MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS, PROVIDED TIMELY COMMUNICATIONS ON LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ISSUES, ADVOCATED FOR ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING THROUGHOUT THE LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY PROCESS, AND OFFERED NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH REGIONAL MEETINGS AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ACROSS THE STATE.
