Program accomplishments

  • Many of the activities and accomplishments in 2025 revolve around the club functions during the year. Our club activities aid in helping to increase our skills and training abilities by gaining access to expert training sources, by learning from experienced handlers and by providing structured programs to enhance their retriever's hunting and competitive abilities. Members participate in sanctioned hunt tests and field trials where we compete and gain recognition in the respective tests based on their retriever's performance.Members are able to enhance networking and community skills by joining a supportive community of like-minded dog enthusiasts sharing knowledge, experiences, and camaraderie. Members learn about conservation and ethical hunting, responsible hunting practices, wildlife conservation, and how well-trained retrievers contribute to ethical game retrieval. For our younger members, we have education and mentoring through a Youth Handler Certification that the American Kennel Club provides and is utilized at our annual events. Youth programs create lasting friendships with peers who share a love for dogs, hunting, and the outdoors. The training and competing with retrievers provide our young members valuable life skills like patience, discipline, and problem-solving skills.
