Program accomplishments

  • Mission Statement: The Colorado Hebrew Chorales mission is to preserve, promote, and celebrate the Jewish experience through song. We are committed to using the power of music to foster understanding through education, Jewish community involvement, and multi-cultural outreach.Diversity Statement:Together with our treble choir, Kol Nashim, the Colorado Hebrew Chorale welcomes all qualified singers of any race, gender expression, disability or religious affiliation.Programs & Accomplishment: The Colorado Hebrew Chorale and our women's choir, Kol Nashim, continued to raise our organization's quality and breadth and expand efforts aimed at bringing unique programs to existing and new audiences while serving underserved populations. During our 2024-25 season, two new performance models were introduced: To Not Be Afraid, an interactive program of art, poetry, and music, in collaboration of Kol Nashim and Artists Against Antisemitism (Feb.2025) and Razzle Dazzle: A Jewish Cabaret (June 2025), involving the Colorado Hebrew Chorale's two choirs and a wide array of outside performers. In the fall of 2025, other free events included Jewish choral immersion experience with Dr. Coreen Duffy, head of Choral Activities at the University of Colorado, Boulder (November 2025), as well as two of our recurring programs, the annual "Summer Sight-Singing Romp" (August 2025) and "Sing Along in the Sukkah" (October 2025), all of which also yielded returning and new participants and locations. Kol Nashim presented an eclectic program of Jewish music as part of the annual interfaith concert, "A Heart for the Holy Days" (December 2025), which brings together diverse performers throughout greater Denver. The Colorado Hebrew Chorale inaugurated a new offering, "The Girl Who Sang: in Story and Song" at libraries in Jefferson and Denver Counties (January and May 2025). Members of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale were honored to have sung "Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezin" together with the Lamont School of Music choirs and orchestra at the University of Denver (March 2025). Last but certainly not least, audiences were treated to new music and arrangements in Hebrew and English, commissioned and premiered by both the Colorado Hebrew Chorale and Kol Nashim.
