Mission
OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE UNPAID PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE TRAINED AND DEDICATED WITH NECESSARY EQUIPMENT, KNOWLEDGE AND RESOURCES TO ASSIST THE LA PLATA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT IN SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN BACK-COUNTRY AND TECHNICAL SETTINGS.
Program accomplishments
- PROVIDING AND/OR COORDINATING SEARCH, RESCUE, RECOVERY AND PUBLIC SAFETY RESOURCES WHEN REQUESTED BY THE LAPLATA COUNTY SHERIFF. OUR EMPHASIS IS DIRECTED TOWARDS TRAINING AND PROVIDING A HIGH DEGREE OF SKILL AND ORGANIZATION NECESSARY FOR WELL COORDINATED DEPLOYMENT FOR LAPLATA COUNTY AND 8 SURROUNDING COUNTIES - A TOTAL OF 35 INCIDENTS, 28 NEAR MISSES & PUBLIC SAFETY EVENTS, 185 EXERCISES AND 167 EVENTS. THERE WERE 11,111, VOLUNTEER HOURS WITH ANOTHER 30% MORE TO RUN THE BUSINESS DURING THE YEAR.Expenses $155,613 · revenue $16,263
