Mission

Provide financial help to needy individuals and families in the Corpus Christi Parish area. Assistence includes, but is not limited to, the payment of rents, utilities, mortgages and other necessary expenses. Payent goes directly to the vendor, not the individual person or family.

990-EZ for the year ended September 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Provide direct payment to third party vendors for basic needs such as housing, utilities, insurance, vehicle repairs and medical exenses. These payments are made on behalf of our clients - the Needy living within the geographical boundaries of Corpus Christi Parish in East Sandwich MA. Clients contact us for help. We send 2 of our volunteers to their home to interview them and assess their needs. The actual payment of any request is determined by a vote of our Board of Directors.
    Expenses $85,470
  • Each year we set aside funds to provide gifts for Needy families at Chrsitmas time. Any of the set aside money that is not used at Christmas goes to a program which then provides a 2 week camping experience for our clients' children in the summer.
    Expenses $7,218
  • We have established a relationship with a local bank that allows it to grant low interest loans to people with insufficient, non-existing or bad credit. The bank grants the loan and we provide collateral for the loan through a savings account we have with the bank. Loans are granted only for purposes not covered by our commitment to provide help for food, clothing, housing and utilities. Most of the loans are granted to replace existing, predatory loans with unusually high interest rates with loans with stable 5% interest rates, allowing our Friend in Need to become financially in control of their life once again. During the fiscal year ending Sept 30, 2025, we collateralized an additional $9,589 and collected collected $6,993 from outstanding loans.
    Expenses $9,589 · grants $6,993
  • We maintain a food pantry that our Neighbors-in-Need can visit once a week. As we belong to the Greater Boston Food Bank, we are able to purchase food, both non-perishable and frozen, at an average cost of 22 cents per pound. By using our food pantry as a resource, our Neighbors-in-Need are better able to feed their families as well as conserve monetary resources which can then be used by the to pay their basic necessities such as rent and utitites. During the fiscal year ending Sept 30, 2025, we participated in a program whereby we gave our Neighbors in Need a new crockpot, bundle of spices and recipes in order to encurage them to use our food pantry at least once a month. This program has increased use of our food pantry by more than 40 families during this fiscal year.
    Expenses $10,919
