Mission
COLORADO RISING IS POWERING A GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT TO PROTECT OUR HEALTH, SAFETY, QUALITY OF LIFE, AND THE FUTURE OF OUR CLIMATE FROM THE HARMS AND IMPACTS OF OIL AND GAS OPERATIONS.
Program accomplishments
- IN 2025, COLORADO RISING EXPERIENCED A PERIOD OF INSTABILITY DURING WHICH ITS FINANCIAL NEEDS AND EXTERNAL PRESSURES OUTPACED THE CAPACITY OF ITS PREVIOUS EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP. DURING THIS PERIOD, CORE FUNDRAISING AND FINANCIAL PLANNING FUNCTIONS WERE NOT DEVELOPED AT THE SCALE REQUIRED, WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO A SIGNIFICANT GAP BETWEEN PROGRAMMATIC AMBITION AND AVAILABLE REVENUE. IN RESPONSE, THE BOARD TOOK DECISIVE ACTION TO STABILIZE THE ORGANIZATION BY CHANGING LEADERSHIP, STRENGTHENING FINANCIAL CONTROLS, REBUILDING FUNDRAISING INFRASTRUCTURE, AND CLARIFYING STRATEGIC PRIORITIES. THE ORGANIZATION IS NOW MOVING FORWARD WITH A CLEARER GOVERNANCE MODEL, STRONGER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, AND LEADERSHIP BETTER MATCHED TO ITS CURRENT STAGE OF GROWTH AND IMPACT. THIS TRANSITION HAS BEEN DIFFICULT, BUT IT HAS ALSO BEEN A NECESSARY STEP IN ENSURING THAT THE ORGANIZATION CAN FULFILL ITS MISSION WITH INTEGRITY, SUSTAINABILITY, AND EFFECTIVENESS.Expenses $24,156
