Mission

Hillsboro Players Booster Club is a registered tax exempt organization. Hillsboro High School is a public Metro Nashville, TN High School. The theater department [outside of faculty and use of school auditorium and facility space] does not receive any funding from the school system to host plays and concerts essential to high school performing arts programs. The parent run Booster Club is a volunteer run organization that solicits community support in addition to ticket and concession sales in order to fund school plays as opportunities for participating students.

Program accomplishments

  • Our summer season is not only an opportunity to invest in students and in our local arts community, it provides necessary summer programming for many students in the summer to continue learning. By and large, the population served by our schools falls below the poverty line in our city. Summer programming is an essential way we give back.
    Expenses $23,269
  • In fall of 2025, Hillsboro Players presented "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" to nearly sold out audiences. In addition to great performances by the cast, the special effects, makeup, and sound opportunities afforded to students by this particular show was a feature not normally accomplished in a high school setting.
    Expenses $45,341
  • This year, our spring musical, "Hello Dolly" was one of the most expensive, yet highest attended programs in Hillsboro History. It featured one of our largest ensemble casts including a small cast of elementary students in a mentorship program. Several students in both performing and technical roles were featured and nominated for awards in our city's theater arts recognition ceremony.
    Expenses $57,416
