Mission

CUFSAA-NA is formed exclusively to foster, maintain and support a mutually beneficial relationship between the alumni of the Colombo University Science Faculty living in North America, the University of Colombo, and the community at large. It is organized exclusively for social, charitable, and educational purposes.

Program accomplishments

  • Launch Pad Grant for 36 students from the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Successfully disbursed installments of $180 to 36 selected students with extreme financial difficulties for a period of 6 months. Only one set of payments were processed in year 2025.

  • General fund donation of Ducted Fume Hood FH-E Series 1000(E) for the Technology Faculty of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This donation was critical for conducting advanced research in the new material science research laboratory, equipped with advanced instrumentation.

  • CUFSAA funds the Synthetic and Drug Discovery Laboratory at the Department of Chemistry, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This lab will significantly enhance the capacity of advance research, post graduate training and collaborative projects with both local and international partners. 50% of the Phase 1 is funded.
