Mission

The mission of IndicatorArt is to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities through the creative arts. We accomplished this by implementing inclusive Painting and Music Workshops conducted by caring professionals in an empowering, respectful and fun environment. Our innovative Workshops offer students a unique experience while demonstrating to the communities in which they live what they can do rather than what they cannot do.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • In 2025, we added a Music Workshop. We hired a professional musician who conducts these Workshops in the same positive way as our Painting Workshops. We had 30 students in this Workshop this year and the feedback we received has been very positive. Students had fun and, consistent with their ability, learned about music and the instruments to which they were introduced
    Expenses $6,556
  • In 2025, we had 330 Workshops slots filled which is a 10% increase over the previous year. Three hundred of the slots were for our Painting Workshops. Our Workshops are unique. Unlike most art programs for people with developmental disabilities, we approach each student as an artist. We only use artist grade materials and our instructor, who is a professional artist, encourages students to take their paintings in any direction they choose while establishing a fun, caring and respectful environment. Also, our Workshops are inclusive as family members, caregivers and members of the community are always welcomed to participate. We continue to receive positive feedback from caregivers regarding the positive impact our Workshops have on students. Many of whom have experienced a growth in their self-esteem and confidence and nearly all have expressed a desired to attend additional Workshops. Our Workshops are funded primarily through fees and donations. The grants we have recently received are specifically for paying the compensation of a new administrative assistant for our Executive Director. The assistant will focus on handling the myriad of nonprogram activities to allow the Executive Director to focus on finding new sources of students and fund raising.
    Expenses $59,365
