Mission
SMPS Austin boasts over 150 members representing a diverse range of professional services firms. Our chapter operates to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the local building industry through relevant and timely programming, professional development resources, and networking events. SMPS Austin is a community of marketing and business development professionals working to secure profitable business relationships for their A/E/C companies. Through networking, business intelligence, and research, SMPS members gain a competitive advantage in positioning their firms successfully in the marketplace. SMPS Austin offers members professional development, leadership opportunities, and marketing resources to advance their careers.
Program accomplishments
- Conducted a series of programs that focused on industry opportunities or skills development by an expert in the topic. Twenty-seven programs were provided with on average, over 70 people in attendance. Highlights included: 1) elevating the importance of SMPS in local market with a record-breaking number of sold out monthly luncheons focusing on our local market; 2) programming that featured trends/new work and connected attendees to owners (private/public); 3) offering a variety of virtual and in-person education events, including our sell-out "Drinks with Developers" Roundtable.Expenses $191,109 · revenue $137,075
- Conducted a Marketing Communications Awards program honoring excellence in marketing communications where a panel of expert jurors provide constructive feedback on entries. We had 11 entries with over 170 guests at the awards ceremony.Expenses $37,729 · revenue $31,275
- Continued supporting the Lyndsay Maclin Woods Amplify Scholarship (for winner to attend the National SMPS Conference), the Rising Star Award Scholarship and Member of the Year Scholarship (both to attend the local regional conference).
