Mission
THE MISSION IS TO MONITOR LOUISIANA ATTORNEYS' COMPLIANCE WITH ETHICAL STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR FITNESS TO PRACTICE, AND TO EVALUATE AND ADJUDICATE AS NECESSARY POSSIBLE INSTANCES OF NON-COMPLIANCE.
Program accomplishments
- TO INVESTIGATE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS AND INFORMATION POINTING TOWARD ATTORNEY MISCONDUCT OR TO A LACK OF FITNESS TO PRACTICE LAW, IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC, AND TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO JUSTICE AS WELL AS THE ORDERLY ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE.
- TO EDUCATE BOTH THE PUBLIC AND MEMBERS OF THE BAR REGARDING THE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS REQUIRED FOR ATTORNEYS, AND THEREBY PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND INCREASE THE PUBLIC'S CONFIDENCE IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION.
