Mission
PROMOTE TOURISM IN THE STATE OF ARKANSAS BY ASSISTING THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND TOURISM IN THE PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A STRONG TOURISM PROGRAM AND BY PROVIDING FUNDING TO PROJECTS FOR WHICH STATE TAX RECEIPTS ARE INADEQUATE OR UNOBTAINABLE.
Program accomplishments
- THE GOVERNOR'S CONFERENCE IS HELD TO ACQUAINT PEOPLE IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY WITH ARKANSAS. THE CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE STATE'S HOTELS, RESTAURANTS, COMMUNITIES AND ATTRACTIONS TO FOCUS ON INCREASING TOURISM.
- VARIOUS PROJECTS TO PROMOTE TOURISM IN ARKANSAS, WHICH INCLUDES THE WELCOME TO ARKANSAS PROGRAM, PARTNERS IN TOURISM EXPENSE, AND OTHERS.
