Program accomplishments

  • OUR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IS OUR FOUR-YEAR ELECTRICAL TRAINING PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO PROVIDE THE SKILLS NEEDED TO BECOME A MASTER ELECTRICIAN. THIS TAKES PLACE IN THE FORM OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING HOURS, CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION, AND HANDS ON LABS. THIS PREPARES A STUDENT TO TAKE ALL TESTS REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF KENTUCKY AND OFFICIATES TRAINING HOURS THROUGH EMPLOYMENT AT AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR THAT IS A MEMBER OF IEC KENTUCKIANA. CLASS TIME IS ONE NIGHT PER WEEK AND ON-THE-JOB TRAINING IS ORGANIZED WITH THE CONTRACTOR AND REPORTED TO IEC KENTUCKIANA BY THE STUDENT.
  • MEMBERSHIP AT IEC KENTUCKIANA ENTAILS THE PROVISION OF MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS TO THE MEMBERS. THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE YEAR OVER YEAR AS DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE EMPLOYEES AND OFFICERS OF IEC KENTUCKIANA. SOME BENEFITS INCLUDE WEEKLY TOOLBOX TALKS, DISCOUNTS TO CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS, NETWORKING WITHIN THE INDUSTRY, AND ACCESS TO OUR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM.
  • CONTINUING EDUCATION: OUR CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION TRAINING TO ALREADY LICENSED ELECTRICIANS. ALL ELECTRICIANS AND CONTRACTORS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS ON A YEARLY BASIS AND IEC KENTUCKIANA PROVIDES THIS TO THE CONTRACTING COMMUNITY FOR BOTH CONTRACTORS AND ELECTRICIANS. THIS IS PROVIDED IN SIX-HOUR CLASSES.
