Mission

Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) exists to bridge the financial, educational, and emotional gaps faced by organ transplant candidates, recipients, living donors, and their families throughout Georgia. In 2025, GTF continued to provide a comprehensive portfolio of programs and services designed to improve access to transplantation, support long-term recovery, and promote financial stability for those impacted by organ failure and transplantation.Throughout the year, GTF provided direct financial assistance, educational programming, mentoring and peer support services, and return-to-work readiness support through the JumpStart Program. The organization also expanded its outreach and educational footprint across Georgia through multiple Trends in Transplant (TNT) Conferences and community-based engagement initiatives designed to connect patients, caregivers, social workers, and medical professionals with critical transplant-related resources.

Program accomplishments

  • Financial Assistance Programs:Georgia Transplant Foundation's Financial Assistance Programs provide critical short-term support to transplant candidates, recipients, and living donors across Georgia by addressing financial burdens that often jeopardize access to care, treatment adherence, or post-transplant recovery. Through its Direct Financial Assistance Programs and Transplant Fundraising Program (TFP), GTF helped patients and families offset transplant-related expenses not covered by insurance or other sources.Assistance provided through these programs included support for immunosuppressant medications, insurance premiums, transportation, temporary lodging, dental assistance, transplant evaluations, and emergency financial needs directly impacting transplant stability and recovery. GTF also continued to provide guidance and matching support opportunities through the Transplant Fundraising Program to help eligible patients prepare for and sustain post-transplant care. Each request for assistance remained needs-based and required financial hardship verification, transplant center or social worker validation, and proof of Georgia residency. These programs served as a vital safety net for transplant patients and families experiencing medical and financial crises, helping reduce barriers to care while allowing patients to focus on recovery, stability, and long-term health outcomes.
    Expenses $2,625,806 · grants $2,093,331 · revenue $6,869
  • Program Development & Strategic Growth:In 2025, Georgia Transplant Foundation continued strengthening and refining its programs and operational infrastructure to better meet the evolving needs of Georgia's transplant community. The Organization streamlined several internal processes to improve efficiency, patient accessibility, and long-term sustainability while maintaining its commitment to compassionate, individualized support.GTF continued expanding awareness of its programs and services beyond metro Atlanta through targeted outreach to transplant centers, dialysis clinics, social workers, and healthcare providers across the state. Educational initiatives and outreach efforts also focused on increasing engagement within African American communities and underserved populations disproportionately impacted by chronic illness and organ failure. The Organization further strengthened its focus on financial self-sufficiency and long-term patient stability through continued development of the JumpStart Program, which assists transplant patients with return-to-work readiness, career support, and pathways toward greater financial independence following transplantation. In addition, GTF advanced several strategic initiatives during 2025, including technology modernization projects, enhanced data collection and reporting capabilities, and planning efforts designed to support future statewide growth and program expansion. These efforts aligned with GTF's mission of bridging the gap between hope and opportunity for Georgia's transplant community.
    Expenses $24,000 · grants $24,000
  • Educational & Community Engagement Initiatives:During 2025, GTF continued hosting Trends in Transplant (TNT) Conferences and other educational initiatives designed to provide patients, caregivers, living donors, and healthcare professionals with access to transplant-related education, peer connection, and supportive resources. These conferences addressed a wide range of topics, including financial preparedness, post-transplant wellness, mental health, medication adherence, insurance navigation, and long-term quality of life. GTF also continued building strategic relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, corporate partners, and transplant advocates throughout Georgia to increase awareness of available resources and strengthen support systems for transplant patients and families statewide.
