Program accomplishments

  • AL-ANON CENTRAL SERVICES OF GEORGIA: CENTRAL SERVICES OF GEORGIA IS A LITERATURE DISTRIBUTION AND INFORMATION CENTER. ONE EMPLOYEE AND VOLUNTEERS OPERATE THE CENTER. VOLUNTEERS RETRIEVE CALLS FROM PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE DISEASE OF ALCOHOLISM. THESE CALLS ARE RETURNED AND HELP IS PROVIDED ALONG WITH MEETING LOCATION AND INFORMATION. WE SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE, STRENGTH, AND HOPE WITH PEOPLE REQUESTING HELP. WE SELL LITERATURE TO MEMBERS AND GROUPS OF OUR ORGANIZATION WITHIN THE STATE OF GEORGIA FOR DISTRIBUTION AND TO BE USED FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS TO CARRY THE MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM THE DISEASE OF ALCOHOLISM. AGAIN, POTENTIALLY 3,000 PEOPLE COULD BE SERVED BY THE LDC.
    Expenses $47,940
  • AL-ANON/ALATEEN CONVENTION: AL-ANON/ALATEEN CONVETION IS AN ANNUAL CONVENTION HELD WITHIN THE STATE WHERE ALL MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND A WEEKEND OF FELLOWSHIP, FUN AND EXPERIENCE. WORKSHOPS ARE HELD ON THE PRINCIPLES AND/OR TOOLS OF THE PROGRAM. GUEST SPEAKERS COME AND SPEAK TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE, STRENGTH AND HOPE. THE CONVENTION ROTATES AMONG THE ZONES IN THE AREA IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE AS MANY MEMBERS/PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. THE CONVENTION SERVES THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE, WHICH IS USUALLY 300-500 PEOPLE. LITERATURE AND TAPES ARE SOLD AT THE CONVENTION AND ARE OFTEN SHARED WITH OTHERS IMPLYING THAT THE NUMBER SERVED COULD BE MORE THAN JUST THOSE IN ATTENDANCE. WE ARE AN ANONYMOUS ORGANIZATION; THEREFORE IT IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE EXACTLY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED.
    Expenses $35,548
  • AL-ANON FAMILY GROUPS OF GEORGIA: AL-ANON FAMILY GROUPS OF GEORGIA, INC. (KNOWN AS AREA ASSEMBLY) DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES, GROUP REPRESENTATIVES, MEMBERS, AREA OFFICERS AND AREA COORDINATORS ATTEND TO OBTAIN INFORMATION TO CARRY BACK TO THE MEMBERS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE DISTRICT AND GROUP FOR THE ENTIRE AREA. THE AREA CONSISTS OF ALL OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA. THE AFG OF GEORGIA, INC. AREA ASSEMBLY IS A BUSINESS MEETING WHERE CHANGES IN PROCEDURES, LITERATURE AND PROGRAM ARE DISCUSSED AND PUT BEFORE THE BODY FOR VOTE. GR'S REPRESENT THE DESIRES OF THE GROUPS WHO HAVE THE ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY FOR THE WORLD WIDE SERVICE OF AL-ANON. WE ALSO HOLD EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, HAVE FELLOWSHIP, SELL AL-ANON CONFERENCE APPROVED LITERATURE AND PLAN AREA PROJECTS TO HELP SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF AL-ANON THROUGHOUT THE STATE BY WAY OF ITS MEMBERSHIP. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED VARIES. THOSE IN ATTENDANCE ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE SERVED. I WOULD ESTIMATE THE NUMBER SERVED BY TAKING THE NUMBER OF GROUPS IN THE AREA AND MULTIPLY BY THE AVERAGE (10) MEMBERS. THIS REFLECTS APPROXIMATELY 3,000 (MORE OR LESS) PERSONS WHO WOULD BE SERVED AND BENEFIT FROM THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE ASSEMBLY.
    Expenses $28,157
