Mission

The Carroll County Child Advocacy Center exists to champion the needs of sexually, physically, and emotionally abused children in Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties through prevention, intervention and collaboration.

990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Forensic & Advocacy Services:Carroll County Child Advocacy Center, Inc., doing business as West Georgia Child Advocacy Center (WGACAC), advanced its mission to provide a coordinated, child-centered response to allegations of abuse across Carroll, Haralson, and Heard Counties, Georgia.During the fiscal year, WGACAC conducted 429 forensic interviews of children and adolescents in response to allegations of abuse, ensuring that each childs statement was obtained in a legally sound, trauma-informed manner. The Center delivered over 9,000 direct services, including forensic interviews, family advocacy, mental health services, case coordination, and referrals to critical community resources.WGACAC maintained and strengthened its Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) model, convening regular case review meetings with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical providers, and mental health professionals. This coordinated approach improved investigative outcomes, reduced duplication of services, and ensured timely access to care for children and families. The organization expanded access to evidence-based mental health services, including implementation of the Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) model, reducing wait times and increasing early access to trauma-informed careparticularly for children in rural communities.
    Expenses $245,654
  • Education & Prevention Services:WGACAC also enhanced rural service delivery through strategic partnerships and satellite service coordination in underserved areas, addressing geographic and transportation barriers that historically limited access to services. In collaboration with law enforcement partners, WGACAC supported the implementation of technology-driven coordination tools to improve referral timelines and information sharing, resulting in significantly faster response times from initial report to forensic interview. The Center continued its commitment to prevention and community education, providing training and outreach to schools, community groups, and partner agencies to increase awareness of child abuse, promote early reporting, and strengthen protective factors for children.Through these efforts, WGACAC demonstrated measurable impact in improving access, timeliness, and quality of services for child victims of abuse, while strengthening the systems designed to protect them.
    Expenses $61,413
