990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • PCANC aims to promote positive relationships and environments for children and families, fostering hope and resilience. Impact of Family Resource Centers: 61 Family Resource Centers (FRCs) were supported statewide, serving as community hubs for families. After Hurricane Helene, FRCs provided immediate crisis assistance, including food, clothing, and shelter. PCANC coordinated support among FRCs to effectively meet community needs during recovery. Child Safeguarding Policies Implementation: Many youth-serving organizations lack comprehensive child safeguarding policies, risking gaps in protection. PCANC developed a toolkit to help organizations create effective safeguarding frameworks, resulting in 100% success among 38 participating FRCs. This initiative aims to make safeguarding policies standard practice across all youth-serving organizations in North Carolina. Empowering Parents Through Leadership: PCANC expanded the Circle of Parents program to enhance parent leadership and support networks. The program empowers parents to advocate for their needs and strengthen their families. Community Partnerships and Spotlights: PCANC highlights partnerships that enhance family support, showcasing organizations like TFSS and Mountain Child Advocacy Center. Monthly spotlights celebrate community efforts and the positive impact of collaboration on family well-being. Local Coalitions Advocating for Families: Local coalitions in five counties worked to address stressors affecting families, focusing on policy change. PCANC provided advocacy resources and support, empowering communities to drive their own change. Successful initiatives include developing plans for family support and advocating for affordable housing. Capacity Building for Family Support Agencies: PCANC offers coaching and technical assistance to strengthen family support programs across North Carolina. 100% of surveyed participants reported increased knowledge from PCANC trainings, enhancing service delivery. This initiative adapts support to meet the unique needs of each agency, fostering resilience and effectiveness.
