- GRAY FISHTAG RESEARCH ("THE ORGANIZATION") MAINTAINS A WEBSITE: WWW.GRAYFISHTAGRESEARCH.ORG AND MAKES AVAILABLE (TO THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY AT LARGE), INFORMATION ON ITS FISH-TAGGING ACTIVITIES. THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF TAGGING FISH AND TRACKING THOSE FISH AND THEIR HABITS. THE ORGANIZATION, THROUGH FISHING CAPTAINS AND MATES, TAGS FISH AND NOTES ON REPORTS, THE LOCATION WHERE TAGGED, LENGTH AND WEIGHT AND LOCATION. THIS INFORMATION IS PROVIDED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AT LARGE AND IS ALSO MADE AVAILABLE TO SCIENTISTS, INCLUDING OCEANOGRAPHERS AND THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.ALL THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE ON ITS WEBSITE. THE ORGANIZATION HAS A RESEARCH SCIENTIST ON-SITE THAT COORDINATES ALL THE DATA, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO WORK CLOSELY WITH SCIENTISTS FROM THE OCEAN CENTERS AT NOVA UNIVERSITY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI. IT PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THESE UNIVERSITIES FOR USE IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH OF FISH HABITS AND HABITATS. THE ORGANIZATION USES 'STATE OF THE ART' METHODS IN TAGGING FISH AND TRACKING THOSE FISH, GATHERING INFORMATION ON MIGRATION HABITS AND PATTERNS. THE DIRECTORS OF THE ORGANIZATION HAVE BEEN IN THE FISH MARITIME INDUSTRY AND HAVE ACCESS TO THOUSANDS OF CAPTAINS IN THE SPORTS FISHING INDUSTRY. THE DIRECTORS DO NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION AND VOLUNTEER TO TAG FISH AND PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE ORGANIZATION.
