Program accomplishments

  • CascadiaStrong: CascadiaNow! (CN!) offers administrative support to charitable grassroots projects through the fiscal sponsorship model. This program provides concierge services to projects which further our mission but often lack the resources, knowledge, or desire to obtain and maintain independent 501(c)3 status. Once vetted for mission alignment and formally adopted by the CN! Board of Directors, fiscally sponsored projects benefit from bookkeeping, financial and administrative services, publicity on CN! communications channels, networking opportunities with other projects and their volunteers, and a wide array of consulting services tailored to specific project needs. In 2024, our fiscal sponsorship program proudly housed nearly 20 projects. These projects are led by the project leaders who operate their programs largely on a volunteer basis. Project leaders come from diverse backgrounds, and are often from the communities served through their project operations through five broad approaches to community betterment: Arts & Culture, Community Connectedness, Education, Health & Wellness, and Stewardship. New projects adopted in 2024 include Designed for Hope, a women-run project that seeks to provide assistance to women at the crossroads of leaving homeless shelters, halfway houses, and transitional housing programs. Another new 2024 project was Portland based Re:Solve NW which seeks to build resilience by uniting community.
    Expenses $366,194 · grants $34,127 · revenue $317,153
  • Bioregionalism for social and economic resilience: CN! promotes greater community connectedness through bioregionalism. First, CN! utilizes its large social network, including over 22,000 Facebook followers and 5,700 newsletter subscribers, to promote Cascadian individuals and organizations in their own community-building pursuits. A monthly e-newsletter provides Cascadians with information about community events, organizational updates, and upcoming fiscally sponsored project events. We also offer free maps and posters created by Cascadian artists for download on our website.
    Expenses $228 · revenue $20,736
