Program accomplishments

  • Summer Concert Series. Through grants sponsorships and donations we have been providing three months of Wednesday evening conters free of charge to the Zionsville Community. ZCD assumed the concerts in 2013 and has grown the program from two to three months and two venues to meet the needs of the residents. Also a childrens educational time before the concerts occurs during June and July.
  • The ZCD Public Arts program consists of murals and SideWalk Poetry which has poems of contest winners stamped into sidewalks around town. Grants are sought for murals but ZCD will use reserves to make up any shortfall.
  • Dahlia program seeks grants and sponsorship opportunities to purchase Dahlia tubers that are given away in May and residents bring flowers back to display in September. This project is based on the 1935 Worlds Fair in Chicago when a local Dahlia grower in Zionsville won first place with his Zions Pride Dahlia.
