Mission
To present world-class dance artistry onstage. We aim to make all forms of dance relevant, accessible, and inviting to the widest possible audience while maintaining financial stability. To offer artistic immersion in the most significant cultural achievements in the dance performing arts to all members of the local, national and international dance community in the form of classroom offerings and participation in world-class live performances. To support dance creation, presentation and education. To engage and deepen public appreciation and support for dance. To enrich Sedona and Northern Arizona's cultural life.
Program accomplishments
- In 2023 we presented the renown American Ballet Theatre in Sedona Arizona. Presenting the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in a rural community brought significant cultural benefits. Firstly, it enriched the community by exposing residents to high-quality art that they might not typically have access to, fostering a deeper appreciation for ballet and the performing arts. This exposure inspired local talent, encouraging aspiring dancers and performers to pursue their artistic passions. Additionally, ABT performances serve as educational opportunities, offering workshops and lectures that enhanced the learning experience for students and community members interested in dance and theater. Secondly, hosting ABT had a positive economic impact on the rural area. It attracted visitors from nearby regions, boosting tourism and supporting local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and shops. This infusion of cultural tourism not only brought economic benefits but also elevated the community's profile and contributed to its overall vibrancy. Overall, presenting ABT in a rural community contributed to cultural enrichment, educational opportunities, economic growth, and community engagement, leaving a lasting impact that extends beyond the duration of the performances.Expenses $56,000 · grants $40,000
