THE SOUTH DAKOTA LAND TITLE ASSOCIATION PROMOTES THE SAFE AND EFFICIENT TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY WHILE PROVIDING ITS TITLE INSURANCE PROFESSIONALS AND AFFILIATES WITH SUPPORT, INFORMATION, AND EDUCATION.
Program accomplishments
- THE ANNUAL SUMMER CONVENTION IS A PRESTIGIOUS GATHERING THAT BRINGS TOGETHER INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, LEGISLATORS, AND STAKEHOLDERS FROM ACROSS THE STATE. DURING THE CONVENTION, PARTICIPANTS DISCUSS VITAL TRENDS, LEGISLATIVE UPDATES, AND BEST PRACTICES IN THE LAND TITLE SECTOR. ATTENDEES HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN INFORMATIVE SESSIONS, NETWORK WITH PEERS, AND EXCHANGE INSIGHTS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO SHAPING THE FUTURE OF LAND TITLE SERVICES IN SOUTH DAKOTA.
- THE LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST IS AN ANNUAL EVENT HELD AT THE CAPITAL BUILDING WHERE MEMBERS OF SOUTH DAKOTA LAND TITLE ASSOCIATION MEET WITH SOUTH DAKOTA LEGISLATORS TO DISCUSS ISSUES RELEVANT TO ABSTRACTERS AND ABSTRACT COMPANIES. THIS GATHERING PROVIDES AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY TO ADVOCATE FOR OUR INTERESTS, STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIPS WITH LAWMAKERS, AND ENSURE OUR CONCERNS ARE REPRESENTED IN LEGISLATIVE DISCUSSIONS.
- OUR MID-WINTER MEETING CONSISTS OF A CASUAL SOCIAL GATHERING ON TUESDAY EVENING, PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS TO CONNECT INFORMALLY. THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY IS DEDICATED TO EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS, WHICH OFTEN FEATURE GUEST SPEAKERS SUCH AS THE HEAD OF THE REGISTER OF DEEDS, WHO SHARES UPDATES RELEVANT TO ABSTRACTERS, OR REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE SOUTH DAKOTA UNIFIED JUDICIAL SYSTEM, WHO DISCUSS CHANGES TO ECOURTS AND UJS, IMPORTANT RESOURCES FOR RESEARCHING JUDGMENTS. ADDITIONALLY, MEMBERS HAVE THE CHANCE TO SHARE ANY NOTABLE ISSUES THEY'VE ENCOUNTERED, SUCH AS FRAUD OR OTHER CONCERNS AFFECTING THEIR OFFICES, ENSURING EVERYONE STAYS INFORMED AND PREPARED.
