Mission
Comfort for America's Uniformed Services Cause organizes programs that promote recreation, relaxation, and resilience for wounded, ill, and injured members of the US Armed Services and those supporting their recovery.
Program accomplishments
- Massage, Reiki & Reflexology MRR: The Cause Massage/Reiki/Reflexology program continues to play a pivotal role in the reintegration and resiliency of our wounded, ill and injured service members, and their caregivers. Studies have shown that injured service members are increasingly seeking out Complementary and Alternative Medicine CAM to battle the stress and pain of both physical and mental wounds of war, illness, or injury. In an ongoing effort to address the critical needs of the wounded, ill, or injured service members and their families, Cause continues to offer CAM to complement the care they receive at military medical facilities. In 2023, Cause conducted the Massage, Reiki, and Reflexology Program at Fort Belvoir, VA. Eighteen sessions were given in 2024, and nearly 18,000 treatments have been given since the inception of the program. Based on program surveys and feedback, participants noted an overall decrease in pain of over 80 and an overall decrease in stress of over 83. Also noted was an increase in sleep of over 80 on nights participants participated in a session.Expenses $22,521
