Program accomplishments

  • Round Robin Tutoring Program Accomplishment Cadets Rising successfully operated the "Round Robin Tutoring" Program from October 2025 through May 2026 at Kappa VI Middle School in Queens, New York City. The program was designed to provide academic support, enrichment opportunities, and positive youth engagement for middle school students in grades 6 through 8. A total of 92 students participated in the program during the school year. The program operated twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays and consisted of structured 21/2-hour sessions that combined academic instruction with sports enrichment activities. Students rotated through three instructional components: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Sports Enrichment. Each rotation lasted approximately 40 minutes, with scheduled transition periods between classroom instruction and gym sessions to ensure organization and student engagement throughout the program. Each academic and enrichment component was led by a certified New York City teacher or qualified instructor who provided individualized instruction, mentoring, and educational support. The ELA and Mathematics sessions focused on strengthening foundational academic skills, improving classroom performance, reinforcing homework completion, increasing reading comprehension, and developing problem-solving abilities. The Sports Enrichment component emphasized physical wellness, teamwork, leadership, discipline, communication, and confidence-building through organized athletic activities and structured group interaction. The Round Robin Tutoring Program created a safe, supportive, and engaging after-school environment where students could receive additional educational assistance while also participating in healthy recreational activities. The rotational structure helped maintain student attention and participation by allowing students to engage in multiple learning environments during each session. The program also encouraged positive peer interaction, improved attendance consistency, and increased student motivation toward academic achievement. Through this initiative, Cadets Rising strengthened its mission of empowering youth through education, mentorship, and sports-based development programming. The organization successfully provided underserved youth with access to certified educators, structured enrichment opportunities, and positive role models that supported both academic growth and personal development. The program's consistent attendance and participation demonstrated strong community support and highlighted the need for continued educational and youth development services within the Queens community.
